Nashville, Tennessee, the quintessential city of music! What better place than for a family or group of senior friends to embark upon this once, twice, or third vacation of a lifetime. Here in Music City, you’ll find history abounds and the musical ghosts of yesteryear keep the air waves humming with those historical country favorites.
We had the privilege to stop in and visit the Gaylord Opryland Resort. Under four brilliant glass atriums, climate controlled for your comfort, we stood in awe and gazed in amazement at the trails among the lush foliage, the soothing waterfalls, and surprises that appeared with each turn along the trails. What a vantage point for those staying in the resort! I could just imagine walking out on my balcony and looking out across the atrium, gazing at the activity below. Then of course my humor got the best of me and I was very glad, I was not the window washer for this hotel! One would have to be Spiderman or his cousin to get the job done!
Families, couples, senior friends stood along the walking trails throughout the atrium discussing their plans for that day or talking about the action they’d seen the night before. Certainly, Nashville, Tennessee is one fabulous city to visit and spend precious vacation time seeing the sights and hearing the sounds of what makes Nashville so special.
Gaylord Opryland Resort is recognized around the world for its extraordinary service, luxurious accommodations and first-class entertainment. Under majestic, climate-controlled glass atriums, you'll be surrounded by nine acres of lush indoor gardens, winding rivers and pathways, and sparkling waterfalls where you can unwind, explore, shop, dine, and be entertained to your heart's content. Highlights include a 44-foot waterfall, laser-light and fountain shows, right inside the hotel.
Lodging and recreation while visiting in Nashville are easy to book. Of course as with any destination city where there are popular activities, you need to book your vacation packages early. If you are a golfer, Nashville has the links for you! There are packages with golf included, and “golf unlimited” packages. The Gaylord Springs course meanders around the Cumberland River with limestone bluffs as part of the scenic view. This course designed by U.S. Open and P.G. A. player, Larry Nelson, designed these 18 holes to play for the pros. This par 72 Scottish Links style course is home to the Senior PGA Tour. However, if you spend all your time playing golf from sun up to sun down – you’ll miss the essence of the city of music!
When you plan to visit Nashville, remember these guidelines for comfort. Dress in layers for cool weather March – May. During the months of June – September, dress for weather in the 80’s with occasional rain showers. October through February, you should plan to wear layers for colder, wetter climate. Happy Traveling to Nashville, Tennessee any time of the year!
