The GearWagon / GearLodge 125 Trailer-Camper

Lazelle Jones

It is said that necessity is the mother of invention and nowhere is this better evidenced than it is with the mini toy hauler camper from Let’s Go Aero.  Called the GearWagon 125 Micro Trailer/Camper, while in fact, what this ultra light weight bumper towable RV accomplishes being so light weight, it permits almost any kind of family vehicle to be used as a tow vehicle.

The bottom line is that the world of RV camping is now accessible to all families

across America who choose to enjoy it.

The magic is in its stingy empty weight and in its cargo carrying capacity.  Weighing a stingy 480 pounds, the pickup style cargo bed is rated to handle one-thousand pounds of cargo.  The axle/suspension system is a torsion type configuration that includes EZ Lube grease baring system, 13” rims / 24” diameter tires.  The dimensions of the cargo bed (equivalent to a full size pickup bed) are such that it is capable of holding 4’ X 8’ sheets of plywood which means that there are mega amounts of utility available to haul all kinds of things here and there.  However, for those who are aficionados of the off road sports the GearWagon 125 can haul a full size ATV or a motorcycle.  It comes with a load bearing, easily removable end gate that latches shut or can be suspended open so it is flat with the interior of the trailer.  The twin wall molded cargo base features a smooth exterior and molded ribbed flooring, drains and a spare tire holder.  This is a fully enclosed trailer for it comes standard with a molded Tonneau lid that provides security for gear that may be stowed inside.  This also means that the inside and its contents are totally protected form the outside elements.

However, the GearWagon 125 Trailer can be quickly converted into a GearLodge Camper that can comfortably sleep two adults for the cargo bed width permits the inflation and use of a queen size air mattress.  Furthermore, it can sleep up to four for the night simply by adding the Decking accessory package, a modular four panel decking that spans the width of the trailer using the integrated ledge inside the base for support.  When not in use the panels can be stowed against the trailer sidewalls for transport.   Let’s Go Aero uses heavy duty water proof marine grade fabric that is both pliable and exceptionally durable to create the tent /vestibule that sets up in a matter of minutes.  It comes with a Leveler Kit that includes two adjustable and retractable stabilizer jacks that extend for use or retract to make the trailer ready for travel.  It is equipped with a SolarVent, a solar powered ventilator that provides ventilation at night while removing condensation.

One accessory that provides yet another form of utility for those who enjoy transporting their bicycles to a remote location is the Bike Mount Kit.  It includes mounting hardware, quick release and bungee type retainers.  The Hardware is secured to the C-channel track that is just inside the base of the trailer.  When properly equipped, the GearWagon can transport up to six bicycles in an upright and secure position.

The overall length of the GearWagon 125 Trailer is 11’.  Because of a GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of under 1,500 pounds electric trailer brakes are not required (verify with the State regulations where you will be towing the unit).  And as noted above almost any kind of family transportation vehicle is capable of towing the GearWagon 125 Trailer.  Furthermore, if you are into enjoying the use of ATVs, once the ATV is off loaded the 125 Trailer can then be towed by the ATV which means that true off-the-beaten-path backcountry exploring and RV camping can be enjoyed.  Happy Traveling!
