The Alumascape Suite 36REQ:

A Fifth Wheel by Holiday Rambler

Lazelle Jones

The significant enhancements found in the 2009 Alumascape Suite 36REQ (36’ Rear Entertainment Quad-slide Fifth-wheel by Holiday Rambler) mandate that it be introduced as nothing less than a 2009 model.  Included are new technologies in the construction of the exterior walls and the added amounts of functionality and livability this unit yields.

Vacuum laminated walls now feature a welded tubular aluminum infrastructure, with cut to fit dense bead foam insulation, interior wall panel and a High Gloss Gelcoat fiberglass exterior.  With the high insulation factor in the roof, walls and floor and Holiday Rambler’s standard cold weather Alaskan Package, the comfort and safety this fifth wheel provides in both hot and cold venues is second to none.

The Alaskan Package includes an enclosed and heated holding tank compartment with a composite underbelly beneath the tank compartment, a heated alcove storage area and an insulated bathroom floor.  Heat from the 40,000-BTU furnace is delivered via a plenum/ducting system that is designed and engineered into the six layer floor.

In parallel with the RV enthusiast being able to enjoy the use of the 36REQ year round, the 36REQ floor plan includes specific amenities needed by those who also enjoy entertaining.  An entertainment complex dresses the entire rear wall of this Alumascape Suite.  Included are a 23” LCD flat screen television, a full array of components required to enjoy home theater surround sound, a wine cellar and a cabinet for crystal wear.  An optional electric fireplace can be added.

When entertaining is not in progress everyday functionality has been well provided with the inclusion of a corner desk adjacent to the entertainment center.  It can serve as a computer work station, a place to write, or as a location where a favorite avocation can be enjoyed.

Configured to facilitate the social side of those who also love the RV lifestyle, the 36REQ includes two 39” deep slide-out rooms (one on either side of the salon area) that provide comfortable seating, lounging and the opportunity for total and complete relaxation. Twin, Glider Recliner chairs along and a self standing dinette can be housed in the curbside slide, with a sofa/sleeper located in the opposing salon area slide.

A bar type counter that is perpendicular to the street side wall and accompanying bar stools separate the salon area from the state-of-the-art galley.  Holiday Rambler achieves this without blocking or interrupting the flow of conversation or disturbing the visual connection between guests being hosted in these two large but separate venues. Equally important is the access to the bathroom facilities that is provided guests.  Located just off the side aisle that leads to the front stateroom is one of two bathroom entries (no need for guests to wander through the stateroom).  A divider can be closed that sequesters the stateroom from all social activity taking place in the salon and galley areas.

When the RV enthusiast needs an abode that yields everyday functionality, livability, luxury and comfort, the Alumascape Suite 36REQ also does that exceptionally well.  For example, the galley includes a fixed island down the center of the unit that runs in parallel with and across from the spacious street side slide-out galley complex.  This slide-out complex yields a counter top surface area, 3-burner cook-top, refrigerator/freezer and a large pantry.  The stationary center island hosts mega amounts of countertop work surface area, a double sink and large cabinets (storage capacity) below the island.  Full extension drawer guides are found in every drawer through out the coach.  This permits full access to the storage area inside each drawer.

It’s important to note that even with its four large slide-outs (the third and fourth are in the galley and in the front stateroom, the interior is fully functional without extending the slide-outs. For example, during a mid day lunch or rest stop there is no need to extend the slides to take advantage of the utility and functionality the 36REQ offers.

At the end of the day or simply when a nap is mandated the luxury of the stateroom comes clearly into focus.  Standard appointments include a king size bed, night stand, a full wardrobe across the entire front of the stateroom and a chest of drawers at the foot of the bed.  A second point of entry into the luxury bathroom is via a sliding door that permits passage directly between the stateroom and the bath.

In the Holiday Rambler www.holidayrambler.com Alumascape Suites family of fifth wheels, the 36REQ accommodates the needs of those who enjoy comfort, recreation and entertaining.  Happy Traveling!
