Mountain Harbor Inn

Smoky Mountains of Tennessee

John C. Jones
Travel/Food Writer

Located on the enchanting Douglas Lake, and is picture-perfect with the white walls of the sprawling Inn mirrored in the clear waters of the lake.  Looking at it from the lakeside  this striking Inn is mesmerizing, fascinating, and intriguing as one approaches.  The location is 1199 Highway 139, Dandridge, Tennessee.  (One would not want to leave the area without a visit to historic Dandridge where Davy Crockett’s marriage license is displayed.  This is one of Tennessee’s oldest communities www.jefferson-tn-chamber.org.  There are over 25 historic buildings to visit in a walking tour of the city.)  Dandridge is 30 miles east of Knoxville, and 30 miles north of Gatlinburg.

To some it is a resort, to others it is a bed and breakfast, and for others it is simply a country inn get-a-way in a storybook world that one won’t want to leave.  The lake is one of the top five crappie fishing lakes in the nation, and one of the top 10 in large mouth bass.

Douglas Lake has over 550 miles of shoreline, is over 43.1 miles long, and has over 30,000 acres of surface water to offer the fisherman, pontoon boater, and recreational water enthusiast; all at your doorstep when lodging at the Mountain Harbor Inn.

Among the experiences offered at the Inn are daily breathtaking views, a romantic sunset cruise, candlelight dessert (if they have the fudge-brownie thing with homemade ice cream on it, or the cheesecake – go for it!), sightseeing boat cruises, outstanding dining by reservation, hot tub, wedding and honeymoon packages, close access to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg entertainment, golfing or fishing packages, and lots of relaxing time viewing the lake.  If that was not enough, how about the enchanting Smoky Mountains as a backdrop to the lake?

Each room is outstanding in décor and can be viewed online.  All package rates include access to the grounds, docks, fishing, picnic area, and outdoor hot tub in our gazebo. All suites are equipped with refrigerators, toasters, microwaves, and coffee makers.

In today’s world of expensive lodging one will find it difficult to believe the prices below.

(Check with the Inn about current prices when you make your reservation).
