The beauty of Yellowstone National Park, located in Montana and Wyoming is among the most majestic of all of the world I have seen (see About John C. Jones for world travels list). Actually, mile for mile it is the most majestic. There are the mountains, the valleys, the animal life, the vegetation and trees, the rivers, the lakes, the fly fishing opportunties, the hiking trails, the geysers, and the vastness of the "Big Sky Country."
As a photojournalist I am going to try to give you some of the pictures that describe the wonderland of the Yellowstone National Park. Our first 20 days were spent at the Madison Campground within the Park. This year, 2008 one of the worse winters in 30 years piled snow 30+ feet deep. It was still snowing the first two weeks of June that I was there for my June - July fly fishing trip. After the first two weeks it was beautiful days all the way. Many years we have a few snow flurries the first week or so, but sun and beautiful a days htat followed. This was a very unusual year! You will see why I keep returning year after year for the past 20 years. I hope you enjoy the journey that I, as a photojournalist, have attempted to take you on! Happy traveling, and I hope you visit our great national parks regularly! They are our national treasures. All photographs taken by John C. or Betty Jones.
