At the foot of the beautiful, famous, Aspen Mountain - across from the gondola, is Pomeroy Sports owned by the Tom Anderson.  Tom Anderson, a legend in the ski industry since the 1950's, has owned and operated Pomeroy Sports since 1980 and is generally there overseeing the operation "hands on.."

In the spring and summer Dave Hauer and Michael Haas are there selling and renting fly fishing equipment for the Roaring Fork and Frying Pan rivers.  In the fall and winter they are there selling the same ski equipment they personally use, and also instructing skiing.

This is truly a "full service" fly and ski shop with a very large variety of outdoors clothing, and many "top of the line choices."  This shop has been called Aspen's "most visited ski shop."

There is no need to walk Aspen's fashion oriented streets not wearing the latest in fashion wear when there is a shop like this conveniently located.

I personally relied on their reliable staff this summer when I spent a number of weeks there fishing the Frying Pan (see related article).  They picked the choice flies for the week's hatch, and I also picked up some replacement fly fishing supplies from their large choice of quality products.

deserves it due to the fine inventory, and outstanding and friendly staff in the ski/fly fishing area, as well as the adjoining clothing areas.
