I walked into the lobby where the seventy-foot, breathtaking atrium engulfs me - looked up into an incredibility mammoth skylight and realized “this is no ordinary luxury resort!”  From the lobby looking out at the picturesque 13th hole of the PPC at Sawgrass  Stadium Course makes one excited about tomorrow’s tee time! 

This elegant resort offers golfing opportunities, three outdoor pools (two are heated), 24 hour exercise room, tennis with 17 courts (five lighted), jogging trails, miniature golf, horseback riding, bicycle rentals, golf clinics, fishing, as well as programs for the children and baby sitting services.    Needless to say, they have a pro shop that is a eloquent as the rest of the surroundings.

Yes, they do have a spa, and I had the special masseuse Tiger Woods and his dad uses assigned to me -the famed Muriel Hattori.  Her gifted hands have brought relief to many PGA players.  There are various massages, facials, and almost unlimited spa options available in the 20,000 square foot spa. 

Here is a resort with 508 rooms (324 have water views), suites, villas, and ample convention facilities to meet most needs.  This is the largest meeting facility at a resort between Atlanta and Orlando.  The three restaurants will meet every type of dining need and the Champs Lounge will provide the nightlife.

Within a short drive is the Daytona Speedway, Walt Disney World, and historic St. Augustine.  There are three miles of pristine sand/beach area waiting the beach lovers (all at Ponte Verda).

Driving into the  pro shop area I found myself thinking about all the great names who have made this drive down the beautiful  the palm-lined entrance.   The  Sawgrass Marriott Resort is home to  the famous 6,857-yard TPC at Sawgrass Stadium Course. Designed by Pete Dye, the TPC at Sawgrass is ranked among the top 35 in the United States and among the top 60 in the world, according to Golf Magazine.   Looking over to the practice course I see Vijay Singh with his trainer and when I return from playing the course five hours later they are still at it!  No wonder he is in the #1 slot of PGA players right now.  Happy golfing.
