Wyndham Rose Hall Resort Golf & Tennis
Montego Bay, Jamaica

John C. Jones
Travel/Food Writer

One of the really favorite relaxing places to experience is the Wyndham Rose Hall Resort of Jamaica. Located only a lovely ten minute drive from Sangster International Airport, the shuttle bus will quickly have you standing before the check-in desk with anticipation to see your room's view. There are 477 fantastic rooms or suits that view the Caribbean Sea or the Jamaica Blue Mountains. I would ask for the view of the sea.

This 400 acre beachfront resort has almost 2,000 feet of luxury, secluded beach awaiting you to enjoy. I especially enjoyed the golf course and the Jamaican caddies (required). The caddies knowledge of he course will more than pay for their fee and personal tip. Beware of the greens because they can fool even the most talented of putters. Trust the caddie – putt where he says. There is the usual “pull” of the ocean on the ball and don't ever forget that – or the pull of the mountains! Even if it looks like a bad call, trust the caddie and putt to where he points. You play into the Blue Mountains and down to the Caribbean Sea for a variety of 18 holes along 7,000 yards of great fairways and greens with views to thrill your heart! http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/MRJRH/cinnamonhill/main.wnt There is also tennis with a seven court lighted complex, baseball, a children's program – the Kid's Club, diving, and he usual ocean activities such as windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, water paddleboats, fitness center, canoes, and snorkeling.

There are several restaurants – The Café, The Terrace, The Ambrosia, Crusoe, and a pool grill. The Cricket Club will provide calypso and reggae music way into the night for the late-night crowd. After the music finally quits, only the sound of the local crickets can be heard. There is the outstandingly beautiful and gigantic pool with a swim-up-bar.

One of the big drawing cards is the Wyndham Rose Hall water park, Sugar Mills Falls, with a lazy river for tubing, and the usual water entertainment. There is the Cascading Waterfalls, a 200 foot thrill awaiting you.

One of the features I liked about Wyndham Rose Hall is the all-inclusive option. This is what I chose. This package included all meals (a $20 voucher to dine at the country club special dining), non-alcoholic beverages, wine, and house brand liquor. Use of all sport facilities, the casino, and all live band music, airport transfer, all gratuities and taxes, children's activities and club, and room service.
