Lake Blackshear Resort and Golf Club
At the Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club, the view of 8,000-acre Lake Blackshear certainly is breathtaking, beautiful, and relaxing. The course is unique in that it is in the middle of Georgia Veteran’s Memorial State Park, just a short two-hour drive from Atlanta. Guests will find a variety of activities to suit every taste: golfing, hiking, fishing, dining and swimming. Nestled in the beauty of Georgia's tall trees, beautiful skies, and perfect surroundings, what more could a golfer, fisherman, or traveler ask for? This place is definitely an Editor's Choice! Bring the entire family here for a week of fun and enjoy the surrounding Georgia towns and special places when not golfing, fishing, doing water sports, or relaxing.
This delightful course is designed by architect Denis Griffiths and listed on Golf Digest magazine's list of four star-rated courses, Georgia Veterans Memorial Golf Course rests on the beautiful shores of Lake Blackshear. Mounds, water hazards, sand bunkers, and trees define the holes and enhance the challenge. Dwarf Bermuda greens are large and welcome a well placed shot, and the sloping wide fairways make shooting through the tall loblolly pines an enjoyable golf experience. The course is open daily from 8 a.m. until dusk, with club storage, and tee time reservations are taken seven days a week (recommended on weekends and holidays). To schedule a tee time and learn more about the golf packages, call 1-800-459-1230. Course Layout
