Chesapeake Bay
Cruise Tours

Rhonda Pipkin

On the eastern shore of Chesapeake Bay, at Dockside Express Cruises and Tours owned and operated by Jerry and Kelley Cox, you’ll find a variety of cruises designed to bring people and nature closer together.  Maryland's Eastern Shore - the quaint peninsula between the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay, where the fast pace of modern life is soon forgotten is an area rich in history, culture, and nature; offering learning and recreational opportunities that most visitors might never discover on their own.  These cruises are conducted by an onboard Marine Biologist/Historian.  The 49 passenger yacht, Express Royale, is berthed at Tilghman Island, Maryland.  Photo – Express Royale vessel

While exploring waters around Tilghman Island , the “pearl of the Chesapeake,” observe watermen as they harvest the blue crab http://www.chesapeakebay.net/blue_crab.htm.  Herons and Osprey are always watching for an easy meal.  Tilghman Island is situated geographically in the mid Chesapeake Bay Region, minutes from historic St. Michaels, Oxford, and Easton. The Island is close to Maryland and Delaware beach resorts, and a leisurely drive from many major cities such as Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Philadelphia.
Tilghman Island is a true working watermen's village with excellent fishing and fresh seafood. It's also home to the last commercial sailing fleet in North America, the skipjacks, which are on display at Dogwood Harbor.  In the region the wetlands restoration project at Poplar Island keeps the area rich in wildlife.  The grand idea behind these eco-tour cruises as well as many specialty cruises in the Chesapeake Bay, is the creation of custom experiences for groups great and small, ecological, historical, or a combination of both with a little pleasure thrown in such as a champagne sunset.

Opening March 15 through December for Tilghman Island cruises, bookings need to be made early – especially if you are planning a specialty type cruise.  These can range from wine party cruises, to sunset dinners, celebrations, fishing, historical, or just relaxing.  You decide what you want your cruise to be!  Photo - map
