Great Food

Aspen, Colorado

John C. Jones
Travel/Food Writer

While Aspen has no shortage of places to eat, one I always go back to every few days when fishing in the area is  Boogies Diner located downtown, Aspen.

This cheerful spot filled with diner memorabilia and an outrageous waitstaff resounds with rock-and-roll faves from the 1950s and '60s. The menu has true diner range -- from vegetarian specialties to grilled cheese and half-pound burgers (including turkey). Other items are excellent soups, a monster chef salad, meat loaf and mashed potatoes, and a hot turkey sandwich. There's even a potato bar with one-pound taters and many toppings. Save room for a gigantic milk shake, malted, or float.  Fodor's review.

Nothing fancy here, just consistantly great eating, reasonably priced.

Aspen, just a delightful place to be.

Happy travling and happy dining.
