The legend, Charlie Hammond

Actually I have filled up all my writing space this month with this delightful area of America - Terrebonne / Lafourche parishes in Louisiana, and still need twice the space to introduce you to this Cajun world.

If riding airboats is not enough for you, take a flight with

Hammonds Cajun Air Tours

Fly the Swamps & Bayousof South Louisiana for that perfect birds eye view of the Cajun swamp & marsh, bare witness to a one of a kind lifestyle .. deer, gators, birds, private coves, forts, oil rigs, Houma Indian settlements plus much much more ...

Flight available from Daylight till Dusk!

This is an Editor's Choice experience. I personally took the flight to observe the Louisiana Wetlands problems renound singer/musician Tab Benoit from this area has brought national focus to (see other articles).  I can highly recommend the trip.

To the left below not the dead trees due to salt water invasion into the wetlands.

For more information about this serious and immediate problem click here.

Fellow Travel writer, Loretta enjoying the flight.

  • Historic Madewood Plantation on Sundays and Mondays ($26, includes lunch in the formal dining room and a home tour; 10:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) or
