The Jolly Inn
1507 Barrow Street
Houma, La.

Thursday: 8:00pm-midnight:
Friday: 8:00pm-midnight: Couche-Couche
Sunday: 4:00pm-8:00pm: Couche-Couche
Credit Cards not accepted. Full line of Cajun food.
This night spot was designed by the owner, Buddy Dennis, to be a place one could bring their family and
not have to "put up" with drunks (though drinking is
allowed), and unpleasant environment situations.

Dancing is non-stop and fun is the atmosphere .
The Jolly Inn is Houma's only authentic Cajun music dance hall and cafe. Enjoy Cajun Live music Thursday night, Friday night and Sunday afternoon. Learn to dance the zydeco train from the locals, to play the washboard and triangle and make new friends. By the end of the evening you may end up on stage playing washboard with the band (I did - photo to right). Experience the welcoming atmosphere and the friendly locals show you how to dance a real Cajun 2 Step.
If it is fine and "real thing" Cajun food you want, then the Jolly Inn
is the place to be.

Birding:
The Terrebonne Loop consists of five of the most breathtaking areas in South Louisiana. The loop weaves through long, isolated stretches of brackish and salt marshes, occasionally punctuated by dense, mature bottomland hardwoods. Some of America's finest "bird watching" can be enjoyed along the coastal waters. Seventeen species of wading birds can be see at various times of the year. Some of the "Bird Watching"

Why do members of the Audubon Society return to coastal Louisiana year after year?
Over 150 species were sighted at a local birding event last spring. Look what they saw...

And Guide Service
This is an Editor's Choice. I personally traveled with this company and found it to be excellent. To the right is Captain Wendy, a US Coast Guard approved licensed operator and because "this is her heart, the wetlands," she gives an awesome tour. "Our tour is an educational adventure into the marshes of southern Terrebonne Parish in South Louisiana . . Captain Wendy (below left) will take you across a natural lake into the serenity and splendor of a thriving freshwater marsh and cypress swamp.

Captain Wendy pours her heart and soul into
each and every trip out into the wetland. You may
have seen the swamps, but until you see the WETLANDS
you have missed what Cajun country is about.
