The Wildland Adventurers’s Jordan Explorer tour traverses an ancient culture set in a landscape of spectacular natural beauty. As a modern Arab state rooted in thousands of years of tradition and culture, Jordan has much to offer the visitor. We visit the nature reserves of Dana and Wadi Rum, float like a cork in the Dead Sea, explore Roman Jerash, Byzantine Madaba and Mt. Nebo where Moses first saw the Promised Land and swim the warm waters of the Red Sea. We explore 12th century Crusader Castles and indulge in two days of personal discovery in Petra, the "... rose red city, half as old as time...." A particularly insightful tour inclusion is to be invited dinner guests in the homes of two Jordanian families in Amman and Petra. Extensions to Israel, Syria and Egypt are also available on request.  For more detailed itinerary information and photos click here

Their Highlights of Turkey tour is focused on the three most important cultural and political centers of this beautiful country: Istanbul, Cappadocia and Ephesus. Our tours to Turkey begin exploring Istanbul on foot and by local commuter ferry along the Bosphorus, into the spice market and covered bazaar, local neighborhoods, and our favorite restaurants. Stay in well-appointed Ottoman-style hotels, a boutique cave hotel, and in a renovated private rural home to experience village life in the Aegean highlands.  Wander through ancient Ephesus and some of the most surreal landscapes on earth in Cappadocia; bizarrely eroded rock formations, dramatic volcanic gorges, and underground cities with elaborately frescoed rock churches. Travel to Turkey and step out of the modern age into the ancient past. You contemplate classic ruins and experience their living history surviving through old customs in picturesque villages where travelers have been greeted by gracious hospitality since the beginning of civilization.  For additional information on the itinerary click here
